Spring

Spring heralds an abundance of daffodils and fresh spring days, perfect for a walk along the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal. Alternatively you can take part in a Dawn Chorus guided walk to listen to the songs of birds such as the Chiffchaff and Great Tit. Daffodils and blossom bring fresh colour to the town of Blaenavon, whilst Blue Bells create a blue haze in the woodlands that skirt the Blorenge Mountain.

From April the Blaenavon Ironworks and the cottages in Stack Square are open daily. Dating back to the eighteenth century, several have been furnished for visitors following the successful BBC ‘Coal House’ and ‘Coal House at War’ series.
