Volunteer

Enthusiastic about our landscape, its wildlife and history? Enjoy being outdoors? Interested in joining in with practical activities with like-minded people?

If this is describes you then joining the Blaenavon World Heritage Environment Group (BWHEG) might be just the opportunity you’ve been looking for!

This community group has grown from the Volunteer Ranger scheme developed by the Forgotten Landscapes Partnership (FLP). It is made up of people who care passionately about everything the landscape has to offer, whether that’s unique wildlife, interesting archaeology, dry stone walls or unique wildlife. A variety of regular tasks that help to conserve, enhance and promote the precious natural and cultural heritage of the area are carried out.
The group have only just formed their committee, but new members are still welcome to join in any time. Please contact Sarah Lewis at FLP if you would like to attend a taster activity or join the group.
