This circular walk, starting at Carn-y-Gorfydd (Cairn of the Battle) [SO 270 109], takes you through a Site of Special Scientific Interest with an abundance of wildlife, including redstarts, pied flycatchers and the green woodpecker. In springtime, you will see violets and oxalis or wood sorrel with its delicate white flowers and gently folded trefoil leaves. You will also find bluebells, campion and white stitchwort on the banks. It is a great, moderate walk for wildlife lovers!
Energetic 4km (2.5mile) walk (approx 1.5hrs)
