Discover the hidden corners of the Blaenavon Industrial Landscape World Heritage Site using the various leafleted walks that form the “Blaenavon Walks Pack”, available at the Blaenavon World Heritage Centre. The walks pass historical sites from the Bronze Age, through the Industrial Revolution and into a landscape and history that inspired famous author Alexander Cordell.
The walks range from easy strolls to energetic hikes with distances of just under 4km (2 ½ miles) to over 18km (12 miles). You can tailor your walks to suit yourself from a quick walk around Garn lakes while you’re waiting for your underground tour at the Big Pit, or combine several of the walks to provide a whole day of exploration. Each walk starts and finishes at a convenient car park, village centre, pub, picnic site or a heritage attraction.
