This half term, Big Pit is hosting a week full of outdoor activities for the whole family to enjoy.
On Saturday 23 May, 11.30am-1pm & 2pm-3.30pm discover what lives on Coity Tip and take part in an OPAL Citizen science survey in our Bug Hunt on the Big Tip,
On Wednesday 27 May, from 11am to 12pm and 1.30pm to 2.30pm, Little Pit Explorers: Wild Welly Walk is a nature walk exclusively for the under 5s to explore the Coity Tip, find treasures and spot birds, bees and butterflies.
Places are limited in number for the sessions, so pre-booking is essential by calling (029) 2057 3650 as are wellies, outdoor clothing and a drink.
All children must be accompanied by an adult. This event involves some walking and the route is not suitable for buggies and pushchairs
A nature detectives trail is also available all week for those who prefer a more leisurely, do it yourself activity. Trail sheets are available from the Big Pit Reception at the main visitor entrance.
All the sessions and trails are free of charge.
