The re-opening of the new Blaenavon Community Museum has been postponed until Monday 29 February as they are waiting for building work to be undertaken to improve one of the rooms.  The main museum exhibition is now ready and, from 1 February, it will be possible for interested visitors to arrange access to the museum’s main room by prior appointment (subject to volunteer availability and in exchange for a donation). Once the museum is fully up and running, it is anticipated that the opening hours will be as follows:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday – 10am-4pm (last admission 3:30pm)
  • Saturday mornings (10am-1pm)
  • Closed Wednesdays and Sundays

The entry fees are likely to be: Over 16s - £1, Under 16s – Free.  Additional fees may be charged for guided tours, groups or educational visits – these will be set by the committee in due course and communicated.  An official, community launch will take place later in the spring.
