Description

Coal spoil tips are unusual man-made habitats that support a wide variety of species, particularly insects and bugs.

Coity Tip is a particularly good example and a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest.

With the expert guidance of Liam Olds from Buglife and local ecologists, we will be looking for unusual creepy-crawlies as well as plants, birds and anything else that turns up.

No expertise needed. Bug-catching equipment will be provided.

Please note that the event will be postponed if the weather is bad.

Admission: Free
