2. Hill's Tramroad

You are now walking on Hill’s Tramroad. Contructed in the 1820’s and named after the Blaenavon Ironmaster Thomas Hill, the tramroad was an ingenious feat of engineering that connected the Ironworks at Blaenavon with the canal at Llanfoist. About 35M along from the brook are the remains of a stone building that may have housed a blacksmith’s shop. Continue along the tramroad track for a further 600M.
