7. Scourings

On the right hand side of the road just before you reach the pond you can see evidence of ‘scouring’. A process of extracting iron ore involving the damming of water, which when released scoured the surface to reveal low lying minerals. When you reach the main road turn right and right again back into Keeper’s Pond Car Park.
