A suggested programme for your day in Blaenavon might be:

  • Call at the World Heritage Centre to discover the background story of the part that Blaenavon played in the Industrial revolution and why this area is a World Heritage Site.
  • Visit Blaenavon Ironworks and experience the lives of those pioneer industrial workers who came to this quiet valley and set up this ironworks over 225 years ago.
  • Take a trip underground with a real miner at Big Pit National Coal Museum to ensure a really memorable day out.
