Café franchise at Blaenavon World Heritage Centre
The Heritage Café is located within the Blaenavon World Heritage Centre on Church Road in the Unesco World Heritage Site of Blaenavon.
The Café is situated attached to the old St. Peter’s School which comprises Blaenavon World Heritage Centre and Blaenavon Library. The site also has outside picnic spaces and spacious gardens. Annual footfall is approx. 35,000 per year.
Torfaen County Borough Council is seeking a tenant to deliver catering facilities at the Heritage Café and participate in events coordinated with the Heritage Centre.
The proposed tenant will be expected to sign up to a lease in order to take occupation of the property.
The length of contract will be 3 years with an opportunity to extend for a further 2 years.
The service will operate Tuesday to Friday between 9.15am and 4.30pm May - August and 9.15am - 3.30pm Sept-April, excluding bank holidays. With the exception of a Christmas Shutdown period from 24th Dec to 2nd Jan. The current average footfall at the centre is approx. 30,000 per year.
The café accommodates approx. 34 covers.
An inventory of fixtures and equipment provided can be supplied upon request.
Overall, the proposed award criteria will be evaluated on the basis of 100% Quality. This score will be subdivided and evaluated as follows: 50% Technical Suitability for Delivering the Catering Service; 50% managing the service.
